This place has a story.
Camino wasn’t built overnight to become a wedding venue.
Long before the disco balls, dinner parties, and very good dance floors, this little piece of Texas had already lived a few lives.
It’s been a working farm. A place growing food for the community. A collection of old buildings, unexpected structures, and really good ideas brought together over decades by people who saw something special here.
We’re just the lucky ones who get to keep the story going.
Before there was Camino.
The farmhouse, cabin, and barn have been here since the 1940s, back when the property was a working pig farm.
Years later, Mike and Vanessa Torres made this place Heart of Gold Farm, where they grew organic produce and supported food banks throughout Central Texas. They also started creating some of the character that makes the property feel unmistakably like Camino today.
The Greenhouse was brought here from a rose farm in Smithville. The Quonset Hut was built. Authentic tipis made their way here from Oregon. Slowly, this wonderfully strange collection of spaces started coming together.
None of it was designed to match. That’s kind of why it works.
And eventually, a couple of women came along who looked at this unusual little farm and thought it might be a pretty incredible place for a wedding.
That’s when Camino began…
In 2019, Jenn and Nicole saw something in this wonderfully weird little property. They took the bones of the former farm, the old buildings, the Greenhouse, the Quonset Hut, and all of its collected character, and turned it into Camino Real Ranch.
They created a place for weddings that felt different from the beginning. A little unexpected, a lot welcoming, and full of spaces that gave couples room to make the day their own.
Over the next several years, they built more than a wedding venue. They built the foundation for the Camino we get to care for today.
There is no version of Camino as you know it now without Jenn and Nicole. So much of what makes this place special started with their willingness to see the potential in something a little unconventional and run with it.
And, lucky for me, they also created the place I would walk into as a wedding planner in 2019 without knowing just how much it would eventually change my life.
And then it became mine.
I first walked into Camino in 2019 as a wedding planner.
For the next four years, I got to know this place from the inside out. I learned how weddings actually move through these spaces, where guests naturally gather, what couples need when plans change, and all the tiny things that can make a wedding day feel easy, thoughtful, and genuinely cared for.
Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with this wonderfully weird little place.
In 2024, I had the opportunity to take the reins as owner and operator of Camino Real Ranch. Owning a wedding venue had always been the dream. I just didn’t know yet that the venue would be Camino.
Today, I get to take everything Jenn and Nicole built and keep pushing it forward. Some things have changed. Some things probably always will. But the heart of Camino is still the same: a place where couples can do things their own way, surrounded by people who genuinely care about making it all come together.
I’m still the person answering your emails, walking you through the property, thinking about how your guests will move through the space, and obsessing over the little details that most people will never notice.
Because to me, owning Camino isn’t just about taking care of a property. It’s about taking care of the people who choose to celebrate here.
So, what does all of that mean for your wedding?
It means Camino is still independently owned, intentionally cared for, and a little weird in all the right ways.
When you reach out, you’re talking to people who actually know this property. People who can tell you where the sun hits in October, how your guests will move from cocktails to dinner, and what to do when you have a very specific idea that starts with, “Okay, hear me out…”
We believe good communication is part of good hospitality. You shouldn’t have to chase us down for answers or wonder what happens next. We’ll give you the information, guidance, and structure you need, while leaving plenty of room for you to make the day completely your own.
